Beauty of obedience

Genesis

We are with the beautiful Kingdom giants Dr. Pearl Kupe and Lulama Konza. These women are the president and deputy president of Global Forum of Women Entrepreneurs South Africa, respectively. Dr. Pearl is not only the international president of GFWE, she is also an attorney, activist, international consultant, author and minister of the gospel. Lulama is not only the deputy president of GFWE SA, she is also a businesswoman of note and a minister of the gospel. These women are doing amazing things and their exploits are not only limited to South Africa but to the rest of the African continent.

The Global Forum of Woman Entrepreneurs, known as GFWE, is as Dr. Kupe loves to say, “an organism”. She quotes Exodus 3:21-22 “And I [God] will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty handed. 22 Every woman is to ask her neighbour and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.”, this is the scripture that God used to open the doors of GFWE. GFWE is a place where women come together to share business experience and skills so that communities are grown for the better of the country as a whole. Women come together to grow together under the leadership of God.

One would think GFWE is all about feminism since it is a women’s forum, but it is about building the community. Dr. Pearl, personally addressed as mama Pearl by those close to her, passionately shares that GFWE is about reconciling communities and families which is something that feminism does not do. “Feminism is rather aggressive in its approach and it is not considerate, it does not speak of reconciling the family it rather breaks the family”, she shares. She hopes to see community development and transformation through GFWE, which is slowly but surely already happening. This movement is provoking to everyone, Christian or not, and it pushes one to get out their comfort zone. She is passionate about being the ambassador of Christ and the Kingdom. She quotes Matthew 5:13 which says ” You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot”. In closing that we, all who call themselves Christian, should remember what the Kingdom mandate is. She advises that we go back and read what the Bible says the church is. Church is not about comfort zones; it is about going out and bringing justice to the people of God.

Lulama describes GFWE as “a group of women with a Kingdom mandate to bring the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven through partnering with society”. She passionately shares that GFWE is a movement of women in action implementing the heart of God. God made Lulama and mama Pearl’s paths to cross, a perfect fairytale if you ask me. She excitedly shares that we should look out for the changes that GFWE will be bringing. She shares that the new project MOWA, “Men Opposing Women Abuse”, will be re-educating both men and women on what their purpose on earth is and quotes Dr Myles Munroe who once said, “When purpose is not defined abuse is inevitable”. Her closing words are to the young Christians out there and the churches “the voice of the church should be attractive to the youth”, she says. The youth have questions and they want substance so the church needs to give them that; the church must embrace the youth and educate themselves so that the youth can be attracted. She shares that when you embrace the way the youth thinks, then they will respond better to you.

GFWE invites everyone that would like to be part of them whether as a volunteer, sponsor, mentee or mentor to come, their doors are open to all young and old, can visit their website: www.gfwe.co.za. Remember obedience is better than sacrifice and these women have proven to be an epitome of that.
