They are an explosion of vibrance and have a sound like no other. Bushbuckridge Worship Explosion just like their name has their roots in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga. The group was founded by a visionary, Jesaya Chiloane. He had the initial idea of gathering musicians from different churches around Bushbuckridge together to make music, host their own concerts and to perform at different events together. BBR Worship Explosion was then birthed and has never looked back ever since.
Their journey just like many others is not one without hurdles but with God on their side, they have triumphantly jumped over each and every hurdle. Jesaya shares how the group had initially planned to have their live recording on the 29th of December 2020. Little did they know the President would announce a national lockdown on the 28th of December 2020, a day before their live recording. “You can imagine, we had plans, we were already setting up the sound, the stage was set and the artists we were featuring were on their way while some had already arrived and all that had to be canceled, ” he says. Although this was a tough pill to swallow, Jesaya confidently says the group saw the hand of God upon them during that period. “I realised that God uses stumbling blocks for us to climb over so that we can reach new levels,” he says.

New levels and new heights are exactly what this group is experiencing after the release of their new album, Hi ta Hlula. Jesaya shares that the live recording of the album was unplanned and the idea only sprung up when the group planned on hosting a worship night. It seemed fitting to translate that worship night into a live recording. He shares that the presence of God overflowed immensely during the recording and that is evident even in their songs. The album features artists such as, Gundo Gee, Takie Ndou, Psalmist Sefako, Themba Nyathi, Nomandla Sandra among many other amazing artists.
The album has been received with warm hands since its release and the group has received an immense amount of support from listeners. “The love has been overwhelming and it has opened doors for us like never before,” says Jesaya.
The future is looking bright for this group and at the rate their going, there’s no stopping them! Hi ta Hlula is available for purchase and streaming on major digital streaming platforms, so go ahead, get it, and experience a worship explosion.
