He was born and raised in Atteridgeville, Pretoria. He is an embodiment of the word art. This man is an actor, playwright, director, musician, producer and songwriter. His name is Patrick Sanku Bokaba commonly known for his character as, Advocate Bopape on the TV soapy, Skeem Sam.

“Being raised in a Christian family played a huge role in nurturing the man that I am today”, he shares. He was and still is passionately involved in a lot of church activities. He is not only a member but also a choir conductor at Saint Paul’s Anglican church and has also served in the stewardship ministry. He is clearly a man after God’s heart. Apart from his character on Skeem Sam, he has acted in over 30 TV and film productions both locally and internationally. As if it doesn’t get better, he has performed in stage plays and has written and directed over 12 plays. In 2018, his hard work was rewarded with a Best Actor award in Bulgaria for the musical Madhouse.
“I am a child of God and will always be. Prayer has been the center of my life in all my living years”, he says. He shares that God has not only been a pillar in his life but a companion who he is ready to show off to whoever is willing to listen. He shares that, as an actor he always tries to push out of his comfort zone so that he can grow but at the same time he stays alert that his character does not shame his God, “I’ve once refused to play a role where the character itself had lines that used vulgarity towards Jesus who happens to be my Lord and savior”, he says. He shares that his love for acting and knowing that it is a gift from God is what keeps him focused and intact in the harsh industry he is in. He says that he always leaves room for criticism whether it is positive or negative, “criticism should always give a performer an edge to want to work hard and to do justice to the characters they play, ” he passionately says
His message to young aspiring actors is that they should always consider the gift of being an actor as a spiritual gift and that they are chosen to be the light in the industry. They should not rush for stardom but rather get proper training from reputable acting schools so that they are properly nurtured so that they can survive in the industry. Lastly, he adds, “patience will ensure that you reach greater heights as long as you stay focused. Prayer should remain your driving force”.
He is currently fully focused on his music, “thanks to my wife who has been pushing me over many years”, he says. On the 29th of May 2020, his first single Besuka was released on all major digital music platforms and his EP will soon be released too so be on the lookout. He is also working relentlessly with his co-producer and sound engineer Joseph “Boogieman” Moshidi to produce other artist’s music. He is also featured in Candy T’s song Peu ya Moya.
