JMPD fires congregants with rubber bullets; Pastor Mukhuba appears in court

Genesis

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) headed over to Unity Fellowship church on Sunday the 28th of February 2021.

The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar told online newspaper EWN that, “JMPD officers got attacked by church members when they attended a complaint of noise. Vehicles got damaged and they were assaulted and had to use rubber bullets to disperse the aggressive churchgoers.”

Many complained about the manner and force in which the police used to disperse the crowd of church goers. In one instance a young man is seen to be heavily wounded and bleeding from being shot at with rubber bullets by the Metro Police.

Pastor Mukhuba has appeared at the Protea Glen magistrates court at 08h30 today.
