Her beauty reflects both inside and out. Born in Soweto but later moving to the township of Lawley at the age of 2, Koketso has always loved music. One of her earliest childhood memories occurred at the age of 6 at her pre-school when she sang Celine Dion’s “Think twice”. “People threw money at me and I remember vividly how everyone was excited, so I grew deeper and deeper in love with music from there,” she says.
Koketso has released her debut single, More of You and shares the reason behind the timing of the release. “God communicates with us all the time. I suppose, we are so busy at times with our own thoughts that we hardly hear his voice. I have been patiently waiting to hear his voice and by grace I did! Everything fell into place,” she excitedly says. Koketso gushes about her lovely experience working on the single and says she enjoyed every moment of seeing her dreams and thoughts come to life. “Everything felt so right and I’m forever grateful to God for the gift, ” she says.
Koketso has been nominated for the prestigious INGOMA AWARDS for Best newcomer and Best single with no less than a month of her release. The 08th INGOMA Awards will be hosted on the 23rd of October 2021 at House of Treasures Ministries in Johannesburg. “I’m truly humbled and I get emotional when I think of it. God has been faithful, and He has taken care of me like He said He will,” she says.

She announces that something big will be taking place on the 8th of October at Crystal Park Worship Centre in Benoni. AYKO Productions will be hosting the At the Altar concert and recording. “I will be recording two singles and I’m challenging myself a little with a Shona song as well,” she excitedly says. On the day, Koketso will be featuring the amazing Nhlanhla Zofo from Joyous Celebration in one of the songs. In preparation for the day, she adds that she worked with the musician, Phelo Bala behind the scenes who directed her songs and, “goodness he is amazing,” she says.
Koketso does not cease to express her gratitude to those that continue to show her support. “May God bless you all for me and thank you for choosing to support me on this journey. Thank you to my family especially my beloved parents for their prayers and constant love towards me. Lastly, my husband, best friend and leader, Ayanda Shange. Thank you for leading me with love and grace and choosing to always make me win. I am because you are,” she says.
Tickets for At the Altar concert and recording are available and Koketso says, “our supporters must anticipate worship in adult contemporary style and trust God does to do rest on the day. It will be spirit filled!”
