“I believe God has placed me on this earth to give good news to the broken hearted, to bless the less fortunate and to inspire those who are restricted by their situations”. Those are the words of Lethabo Kupa based on Isaiah 61:1-3 which has become his mantra. Lethabo is an ambitious young man after the very heart of God. This young man hails from the humble streets of Soshanguve, Pretoria. His life’s journey has afforded him many astounding achievements but none compare to the heart he has for serving people. “I like to classify myself as a humanitarian and philanthropist due the charity work and initiatives I am part of,” he joyfully says.
He has joined forces with Lebohang Lehari in a gift hamper give away campaign for women’s month. The give away is to help people celebrate the women in their lives. The give away includes a gift hamper and a voucher from Vita Restore for a medical foot assessment and massage. “We started the initiative to help celebrate women because they play a pivotal role in our lives”, he shares.
In addition to that, he is running an initiative called “Keep a girl child in School”. The initiative gives menstrual cups to girls who cannot afford sanitary towels. “There are many girls in South Africa and around the world who miss school because they can’t afford to buy sanitary towels”, he says. He shares that he started the initiative because he belives every girl deserves an equal opportunity to attend school just like any boy.
In order to make this initiative a success, he has joined hands with mother and daughter, Dr. Shamila Ramjawan and Dr. Daksha Ramjawan, who own PrincessD- a menstrual cup company. “Anyone can write a letter on behalf of any girl they know who can’t afford sanitary towels and I will review the letter”, he explains. The menstrual cup can last up to 10 years with proper care. He passes his gratitude to Dr. Shamila Ramjawan, Dr. Daksha Ramjawan, Naomi Shivali Goodley-Jose, Dana Strong Haselum, Joshua Kelley Chetty and Dr. De Vries for their support and sponsorship.
As a certified life coach, he emphasizes the importance of having someone to talk to when going through rough waters. “We are living in times where depression and anxiety are an issue for many around the world and young people need someone to talk to”, he shares. This very prompted him to start an initiative that gives free therapy to those who suffer from depression and anxiety. He says those who need their services can send a Please Call Me personalized I need your help to the number 060 653 7714 and will receive a call.
