It is no secret that Polokwane is beaming with talent and this music group has proven just that to us. This time, with individuals that carry a new sound that will sweep you off your feet. Limpopo Spirit of Worship is a Polokwane based music group. It was established in the month of May 2020. “The group was founded by a group of producers and musicians based in and around Polokwane, namely Oupa Sekgobela, Thabang Maeko, Bonginkosi Maseko, Lazarus Thobejane, Bongani Zulu and Doyen Makhafola,” says Kevin Lincoln Daniels, the group’s representative.
“All the existing members of LSW are well known gospel musicians in and around Polokwane and they were solely approached and recruited to join the team in order to form the group”, says Kevin.
The LSW has released a single titled, “Re mo Tumishe”. Lincoln talks about how the song was marinated in the word of God. “The Word has inspired much of our composition. The song, “Re mo Tumishe” is made up of a combination of scriptures. The verse stems from Hosea 6:1 – 3, the chorus from Psalm 103 and the bridge from 1 Chronicles 16:34 (psalm 118),” he says. He also shares the joys experienced in the process of working on the song. “Brainstorming on ideas of creating a new sound was fascinating. Rehearsals were also a real jump as we got to explore different minds, ” he adds.
The group greatly acknowledges the role that God has played from the time it was established until today. “I can humbly say, we have never lacked any good thing, He made sure, just as He promised in Psalm 34:10. God made sure to protect us from the Pandemic Covid-19, as the group was established and all work was done amid the lockdown,” he gratefully says.
There is still a lot to expect from them. “We are still working on marketing the group to beyond where it is now. Expect to witness a positive influence towards our youth. Our main aim is to preach the word of truth to the people in song and we will do exactly that and more”, he confidently says. Their future is filled with limitless possibilities and we definitely cannot wait to see what it has in store. Simply expect more music”, he adds. More music from them? Now that is definitely music to our ears!
