Moshe MC to the world

Genesis

Wrapping up our YouTube edition from last season we have the multi-faceted Moshe Matseke, commonly known as Moshe MC. He is a music composer, performer and speaker, “I play drums, sing and do what is commonly known as spoken word,” he says. He is one of Tshwane gospel choir’s best tenors and has even performed his spoken word on stage with them. He is featured on songs such as Father wrap me, Hand made and Through it all.

He shares that YouTube has been a great platform for him to share his music and the productions he is a part of. Through it, he is able to keep in touch with his supporters and celebrate achievements. Moshe opens up about his YouTube journey and shares that his biggest obstacle with being a YouTube content producer has been getting an audience, “there is so much going on and no one has time to search for something new”. However, the journey has also been great, he says his biggest YouTube highlight has been the realisation that his content is relevant and inspirational to others.

He is working on a single, yes you read it right! His new single is titled Masibambaneni meaning “Let us unite”. The song is inspired by the pandemic the world is facing that is Covid-19, “we need to relate to each other as human beings first before as family or friends or church mates, etc”. In addition to that, he says the way we relate to each other helps us treat each other better. “You would not want to harm yourself so if you relate to the next person as a human being first then you will see yourself in them. I believe if we love each other, if we can just unite as a people, then most challenges we face would not impact us as much because we will be united”, he says. He shares that the greatest command in the Bible is to love our neighbour as we love ourselves and so that is the message he is pushing with the song.

He is currently part of the South African State Theatre Fringe Online Festival, hosted by the South African State Theatre in partnership with Pretoria news and Webtickets. He will be giving an afro soul sound. The tickets to the festival are available on Webtickets – https://www.webtickets.co.za/v2/Event.aspx?itemid=1505295208 for just R50 so go get yours! To add on to that, he is also featured on another production hosted by the South African State Theatre called On Stage.

This man has won over the hearts of supporters and continues to do so through his art. His future is looking bright and we cannot wait to see what it has in store for him!
