She follows her heArt

Genesis

Born and bred in Itsoseng, an intimate town in the beautiful North West. She later moved to Pretoria to nurture her passion for art. She studied music with Heritage Music School and then went on to model for a couple of agencies in and around Johannesburg. “Acting and dance creeped in and never left”, she adds. You must be wondering who I am talking about. I am talking about the breathtaking, exceptional and all round phenomenal Motlatsi Leseka, fondly known as “Mo” . Her passions include writing too. “Dance and writing are my escape places”, she shares. She also adds that she loves helping people and sharing the knowledge she has acquired. “Love for arts is something you are born with”, she passionately shares, “it’s an individual decision to follow or ignore it”.

She is the founder of Plethora Events & Artist Management, “I started Plethora because I didn’t want other artists to struggle with the basic tools an artist should have before venturing into the industry”, she shares. She also shares that another reason is that she wanted to protect upcoming artists from the pretentious glitz and glamour of the art industry and wanted to teach them about self-empowerment, the business side of art, self-branding, etc. “I dream and dream big”, she shares, but above all she prays and allows God’s will to be done. She admirably shares that, “through art I have been able to touch lives and give hope”. It is well known that the art industry has the worst remuneration, but God has always made means for her to survive and keep pushing. She also adds that her family is her biggest cheerleader, “my family supports me so much even when they don’t know what I’m talking about”.

She shares that some of her latest highlights is being the director of the poetic play Her Shoes. The play  is written by Itumeleng Motuba and is about the extraordinary journeys of women. She prides herself in the successes that Plethora has seen through the models they groom, “Plethora has also produced the greatest models in the industry such as Miss Earth SA 2017, Lebogang Mahlong and Miss Commonwealth SA 2020, Kefiloe Kolopang”.  Plethora, she adds, has placed models, dancers, live bands, DJs, poets and beauty queens on international stages.

Mo is not only involved in the arts, she is also a health and beauty consultant for Annique and a massage practitioner. She is a ball of amazing stuff I tell you. Keep up with her on her social media platforms, she is MoLeseka on Twitter and Instagram, Mo Kgampe Leseka on Facebook and Mo Leseka on YouTube.
