The Grace Band SA at the Forefront of promoting youth Talent

Genesis

In the luscious green Mopani district, at the heart of the Limpopo Province lies Khujwana village – a melting pot of gifts and talent.  Recognizing the potential that lies in its soil, Dr Bishop S. Mhlari decided to start the Grace Band in 2014. The aim was to provide a platform for young people to showcase and hone their gifts while simultaneously using the very gifts to glorify God.  Since their inception, the group has seen a lot of success. They have travelled near and far, performed at multiple events and festivals and released multiple albums.

One of the band’s beliefs is a reflection of Proverbs 18:16, “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.” They believe that young people can use their gifts to come out of unfavourable circumstances. Indeed, the scripture has borne fruits as members have become songwriters, music directors and have even gone on to launch their own solo music careers since being part of the group.

The manager of the music group, Donald Ngobeni gives credit to God for the longevity, impact and success the group has seen over the years. He admits it has not been an easy road, but says, “We have seen the hand of God in a miraculous way, in every challenge we came across, He fought our battles.”

For Donald Ngobeni, working with the group has been a pleasure and has come with a sweet share of character development. “I have learnt to be patient with the people that I’m leading because I am aware that they come from different backgrounds and that contributes to their behaviour.”

Last year, on the 1st of October 2022 the group had a Live Recording titled, Season of Grace at the CGCC Centre of Grace in Khujwana Village. The Recording featured the Yeso wa Mahala hitmaker, Pastor Frank Ntlemo. According to Ngobeni, this feature is in alignment with one of their core missions which is to collaborate with and uplift local artists.

The future looks bright for The Grace Band so buckle up and get ready for their new and fresh music which will be making its way to you soon!
