Her music journey sprouted at a young age and it has been a pleasure to see how she has grown and flourished right before our eyes. Who is this you say? This is none other than the amazing, Tshepang Mphuthi.
She shares with us the role that God, who she passionately refers to as her loving Father has played in her music, “The role God has played in my music journey is that of a helper and inspiration. He is constantly coming through, making a way and opening doors. He inspires every song, sound, melody, harmony and lyric”, she says.
With her amazing voice, this young lady could have chosen to sing any genre but she believes she was called to sing gospel music. Growing up in a environment where gospel music was dominantly played as well had a major influence on her. “When I discovered my gift, it made sense to sing gospel and when I became intentional about my relationship with God, I discovered that its what I am called to do, to preach the gospel through song”, she says.
Tshepang speaks highly of the individuals who have held her hand, who in both her life and music walk have been her biggest cheerleaders. She first expresses her biggest gratitude to God, who she says is the source of her gift and is the one who enables her to use it. Her amazing mother who she says always reminds her of the greatness God has put inside of her and is a constant source of encouragement. The gospel music icon, Bishop Benjamin Dube,” he has been the greatest support system and is the wisest person I know. He has held my hand from day one and has mentored me through this whole process,” she says. The Songbird “JustHlo” who she says always pushes her and sees the best in her. Lastly, all her friends who she says have been a great support system.
From today, yes today! Her E. P God Forever is available on all digital streaming platforms so go ahead and indulge. She says that the inspiration behind the E. P was for her to share her gift with the world and for God to use her. The E. P also served as a platform for her to put herself out there as a solo artist and to exhibit her growth as a singer.
She shares with us the inspiration behind the E. P’s name God Forever. Tshepang first gushes over how much she loves to sing about God and says, “God is eternal, God is forever and He should be acknowledged and praised for that. Its me just putting a spotlight on God’s eternity, His Kingship and his power”, she says.
What she wants people to take out from the E. P is to be assured of the presence of God in their lives, to feel loved and for their faith to he revived by fellowshiping with the songs. She also talks about what makes this project especially special and different from the other ones she’s been involved in. “The biggest and obvious difference is that it’s mine! It’s just me, my songs, my sound, I’m on the cover art, I am not a feature. It’s all me and I am more involved in the song writing”, she excitedly shares.
This young lady is making her imprint in the gospel music industry and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for her!
